Use Of Unlicensed Premises Forbidden
Participants are reminded that their greyhounds are not allowed to be trained at any place or handled on any racecourse by an unlicensed person.
Rule GAR101 states:
(2) An owner or trainer shall not permit an unlicensed person to -
(a) train, at any place; or
(b) handle on any racecourse,
a greyhound owned by or pursuant to the control of the owner or trainer.
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) recognises that participants using the services of unlicensed people to train greyhounds pose a significant integrity and welfare risk both to the greyhounds involved and the industry as a whole.
GRNSW General Manager Regulatory Stephen Dodd said any participant found contravening this rule would face appropriate sanctions.
“The rule clearly states that it is an offence for participants to allow unlicensed persons to train at any place or handle on any racecourse a greyhound under their own control,” Mr Dodd said.
“GRNSW will not hesitate in taking suitable and decisive action, where appropriate, against any participant found breaching or not acting in accordance with this rule.”
