South coast trainers Glen and Robyn Goodwin combined with Queensland owner-breeder Steve Williams to take out the 2018 group 1 Peter Mosman Classic with Velocity Liberty and the combination look to have another hot prospect following Velocity Tamika's win at Dapto on Saturday night.

Velocity Tamika led throughout to win the 520m Sportsbet Maiden Final by nearly five lengths in 29.71, outstanding 520m figures for a maiden greyhound.

In her heat nine days earlier, Velocity Tamika had finished second to fastest qualifier Zippy Fruits in 29.99, while her litter sister and kennelmate Velocity Queue led all the way to take out the other heat in 30.24.

After last night's race Glen Goodwin said: "Velocity Tamika has the making of a really top class bitch.

"Something happened to her in last week's heat, the winner was too good but Velocity Tamika seemed to get on the wrong leg going through the catching pen.

"But she had only one 520m hit out before that race and when we trialled her at Appin on Tuesday she went extra well.

"Her sister Velocity Queue is also handy but Velocity Tamika is quicker, while we have an unraced dog from the same litter called Horchata who goes good.''

Only winner to go faster than Velocity Tamika on Saturday was the irrepressible Zulu Warlord, who notched his 15th success in just 30 starts by taking out the top grade 520m in 29.63.

Before the race trainer Mick Hardman was concerned whether Zulu Warlord would be able to cross noted front runner On The Rocks, but after an early tussle for the lead with that greyhound, Hardman's dog gained the upper hand and raced away to win by three lengths.

Hardman took training honours for the meeting when Analysing gave him a winning double, leading throughout to win the final event in a smart 29.77.

Analysing thwarted Central Coast owner-breeder Lorraine Atchison's bid for a double when she downed Atchison's Alan Proctor trained Tarawi Chrissy by just over five lengths.

Atchison owns the David Smith-trained Tarawi Ted, a litter brother to Tarawi Chrissy, who led all the way earlier in the program to win over 520m in 29.83.

Trainer Andrew Bell was not too surprised by the handy 30.17 win by Cyclone Rufus in Saturday's Watch Live On Sportsbet Maiden over 520m.

Cyclone Rufus had been placed in just one of eight previous starts but Bell explained the dog took time to settle in to his new surroundings after being purchased following a strong finishing fourth at Albion Park in May.

"He was very nervy when he arrived at my kennels and it was difficult to keep the weight on him,'' Bell said.

"But two weeks ago he started ticking all the boxes and his weight became constant so while I don't bet much, I did have $50 each way on him at Bulli on Wednesday when he finished seventh.

"Ironically I also trained the winning trifecta in that race, with It's A Moment, General Payton and Go Abbey Sue, but tonight at Dapto I had nothing on him and he paid $23.''

Arctic Kingdom, a litter brother to Mark Moroney's outstanding duo Fire Legend and Fire On Ice, took his tally in three appearances for new trainer Owen Langley to two wins and a third with a tenacious all-the-way defeat of Redshift Seven on Saturday.

Arctic Kingdom, who covered the 520m in a slick 29.77, is raced by Lisa and Steve Sharp, who have not previously had a dog in Langley's kennels.

"I got this greyhound from Mark Moroney is superb condition,'' Langley declared on Saturday.

Gold Azalea, having her first start for nine months due to injury and a seasonal condition, made a one act affair of Saturday's Sportsbet Bet With Mates Stakes.

Before the race Patrick Mulrine, whose father Andrew trains the greyhound, predicted on The Dogs website that if the greyhound was in front going through the catching pen she would win.

Gold Azalea did just that, careering away to win by five lengths in a smart 29.83 and running home in the outstanding figures of 12.52.

Flying Ricciardo's trainer Kristy Sultana landed the Commercial Painting Group Stakes with French Vanilla, who retained her unblemished record in three appearances from box seven to lead throughout in 29.99.

Not be outdone, Kristy's sister Michelle was in the winner's circle 45 minutes later when her dog Drink Long Necks came from a distant third approaching the home turn to charge down the outside to win another 520m fifth grade in 29.98.

Wicked Spartan took his record over 600m at Dapto to five wins from eight outings when he led throughout to win Saturday's only middle distance event by a neck from hot favourite Ice Cream Story.

The Ruth King-trained Wicked Spartan covered the distance in 34.46, well outside the track record on 34.08 held by Opal Rocks and wide of his personal best Dapto 600m figures of 34.19, posted on June 17.
