Greyhound Racing NSW through its Aussie Mates in the States program, recently saw its first NSW greyhound - trained specifically to be a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) companion animal - ‘adopted’ by the Dallas Police Department in Texas.
Fittingly name Aussie, the retired racing greyhound not only “lights up the room” at the Dallas Police Station, but he is assisting those officers suffering with PTSD, and Channel Nine news reporter Lauren Tomasi compiled a wonderful story on how Aussie is enjoying his new career post racing.
