Welcome to GRNSW’s Racing Week Ahead where we update participants with our upcoming events for the following week, highlighting several of those events for which nominations close over the next seven days.
It all starts at Wentworth Park on Wednesday 21st February where there is a 520m Wentworth Park Battlers worth $4,000 to the winner.
The focus will be on Richmond on Friday 23rd February, with 520m Richmond Derby and 520m Richmond Oaks Heats - each with a $50,000 Final! The card will also feature 520m Maiden Heats ($4,000 Final.) There's also extra prize money for all races and all races over 622m & 722m will carry city-class prize money.
At Dubbo, on Saturday 24th February there is a 605m Non-Grade worth $7,200 to the winner, and at Wentworth Park on Saturday, the meeting will see a 520m Wentworth Park Battlers worth $6,000 to the winner.
The Clarence Final highlights Grafton on Sunday 25th February, with the first four over the line qualifying for the Ladbrokes Country Classic Semi-Finals at Dubbo on March 9. The Sunday meeting also features 450m 0-1 Win Heats leading to a $2,700 Final. At Richmond on Sunday 25th February, there are 401m Masters Heats - leading to a $5,000 Final.
Still at Richmond but on Monday 26th February, we'll see 401m Maiden Heats ($1,500 Final, and at Maitland there are 450m Maitland to Wenty Heats - leading to a $6,000 non-penalty final. Don't forget there's extra prize money for all graded races over 450m & 565m.
At Nowra on Monday 26 February, there's the all-important 630m Country Classic Heat - the winner gets $7,200 and the first four advance to the semi-finals to be in the running for the $125,000 Grand Final at Dubbo on March 16.
Gosford has its time to shine on Tuesday 27th February with their 603m Country Classic Heat - again, $7,200 to the heat winner with the first four gaining semi-final berths. Just a reminder it's a cool $125,000 to the winner of the Country Classic Final!
Also on Tuesday, at Bulli, there are 340m 1-3 Win Heats ($3,000 Final)
