Rehoming Workshops For Participants

GRNSW News
Dear Participants, I’m writing because GRNSW is about to embark on a round of important rehoming engagement workshops with you all, the men and women who make our sport tick.

In September we will conduct a series of workshops around the State, with the aim of not only bringing all participants up to date with everything we are doing from a rehoming perspective, but more importantly, listening to what you all have to say about the subject.

The past 12 months were again a record-breaking year for NSW greyhound adoptions, but there is much more to do. A total of 2,202 greyhounds were rehomed through GAP facilities, the Homing Assistance Scheme, our regional GAP programs, and of course the newest additions to our pathways, our police partnerships and the USA Adoption Program. As a result, we surpassed our target of 2,100, and improved on the previous year’s tally of 2,014.

We want to workshop with participants exactly how all the rehoming pathways work, and how you can best access them, but I also seek your feedback and ideas about ways we can do things better. I have a proven record of listening to and acting on participant ideas. We’ll address the backlog of retired greyhounds, and what we can all do moving ahead to ensure our dogs find loving homes after racing. That’s why I strongly encourage everyone to come along, have your say, and ask us the questions you want answered when the nearest roadshow rolls into town.

The workshops will be held at 10am at the following tracks:
        Goulburn 19 September 2023
        Casino 20 September 2023
        Dubbo 21 September 2023.

Details around each day will be communicated as we get closer to the events. I’ll also schedule events at Wagga Wagga, Richmond and Newcastle.

I hope to see you at one of the workshops.

Kind regards

Robert Macaulay
