Welcome to GRNSW’s Racing Week Ahead where we update participants with our upcoming events for the following week, highlighting several of those events for which nominations close over the next seven days.
We start a busy week at Temora on Wednesday 28th February, where we'll see the Temora edition of the 570m Country Classic Heat, worth $7,200 to the winner - with a $125,000 Final at Dubbo on 16th March. Also on Wednesday, at Wentworth Park, we'll see a 520m Wentworth Park Battlers - worth $4,000 to the winner.
Leap Year Day! Thursday 29th February might be lucky for you at the Richmond Straight where there are 5th Grade Heats ($2,000 Final) and at Dapto it's their time for the Country Classic Heat - worth $7,200 to the heat winner - doesn't that $125,000 Final just sound brilliant?
All eyes will be on Richmond on Friday 1st March, not only will we see thrilling520m Richmond Derby & Oaks Finals, but Richmond will host its Country Classic Heat ($7,200 to the winner of the heat and $125,000 Final) plus there is a 722m 5th Grade 1-4 Win worth $6,200 to the winner and we'll also see 520m 5th Grade Heats leading to a $5,000 Final. There's also extra prize money for all races, and all races over 622m & 722m will carry city-class prize money.
Still on Friday 1st March, at Casino, we'll see a 411m Non-Grade Bitches Only race ($2,200 Winner) and The Gardens play host to their Country Classic Heat - that's $7,200 to the heat winner - and what would you do with the $125,000 if you won the final?
We head to Dubbo on Saturday 2nd March for their Country Classic Heat - that's $7,200 to the heat winner and $125,000 to the winner of the final at Dubbo on 16th March. At The Gardens on Saturday, there are 400m Non-Grade (1/2/3/4th Grade) Heats ($5,000 Final), and at Wentworth Park we'll see 520m 5th Grade 1-4 Win Heats leading to a $6,000 Final.
It's Cup time at Temora on Sunday 3rd March with 457m Temora Cup Heats to be run and won - the winner of the final will take home $40,000! Also on the card are 457m Maiden Heats ($4,000 Final), 330m Non-Grade Best 16 (1/2/3/4th Grades) Heats ($2,000 Final) and there's also extra prize money for graded races over 457m & 570m. At Grafton, on Sunday there are Maiden Heats ($2,200 Final) and 350m Non-Grade (1/2/3/4th Grade) Heats, with a $2,400 Final.
At Nowra on Monday 4th March the card had 365m Maiden Heats on offer for a $2,000 Final.
Finally, at Grafton on Tuesday 5th March there are 450m 1-2 Win 5th Grade Heats leading to a $2700 Final, as well as 350m 5th Grade Maximum 150 points Heats with a $2,200 Final.
