Travel Rebate Scheme

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has launched a Travel Rebate Scheme to support industry participants affected by temporary track closures.

Under the scheme, GRNSW will provide a rebate of up to $80 per week per participant for reasonable travel costs incurred by eligible owners and trainers a result of a designated track closure. The amount of the rebate payable is calculated on the distance between the participant’s ordinary track and the alternative track that they travel to for trialling.

GRNSW is committed to ensuring optimal track capabilities and safety standards.  In order to maintain track standards, it is necessary from time-to-time for GRNSW to temporarily close a track for remedial works.  However, GRNSW understands that temporary track closures may result in inconvenience and additional financial burden where participants are required to travel further in order to attend an alternative track for the purposes of trialling.  As such, GRNSW has introduced the scheme to minimise the financial burden on participants in these circumstances.
