Welcome to GRNSW’s Racing Week Ahead where we update participants with our upcoming events for the following week, highlighting several of those events for which nominations close over the next seven days.
The meeting at Temora on Wednesday 10th January will see 457m 5th Grade Heats leading to a $4,000 to the winner final. Also on Wednesday at Richmond, there are 622m 5th Grade Heats to be run with an $8,000 to the winner final a week later.
At Casino on Thursday 11th January, there are 484m Non-Grade 1/2/3/4 Heats with $3,660 to the winner of the final.
All eyes are on Wentworth Park on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th January! On Friday, we will see the National Derby Heats ( best male greyhounds whelped on/before 1/10/21) with the Final on 20th January worth $75,000 to the winner. Also on Friday, there are National Futurity Heats (best Female greyhounds whelped on/before 1/10/21) again, $75,000 to the winner and all that Group 1 Glory! On Saturday, Wentworth Park is highlighted by the 520m G1 Paws of Thunder Heats, with $75,000 going to the winner of the final, along with 720m Summer Distance Plate Heats - worth $40,000 to the winner of the final on 20th January.
At Grafton on Sunday 14th January, there are 450m 1-3 Win Heats on offer. This is also an additional prizemoney meeting for graded races 450m+.
On Monday 15th January at Nowra, the meeting will see the Greg Myers Memorial – a 520m Non-Grade (Best 8 Any Grade) worth $7,000 to the winner. The card will also see 520m Maiden Heats with a $5,000 to the winner final a week later.
At Maitland on Monday 15th January there are 450m 1-3 Win Heats with $2,500 to the winner of the final.
Finally, on Tuesday 16th January - at Bulli, 400m 1-3 Win Heats ($3,000 to the winner final); at Grafton, 350m 5th Grade Heats Max 150 Points ($2,200 to the winner final); and at Gosford, 603m Non Grade ($7,200 to the winner final)
